Updated : Aug 6, 2025

Dhanush created a huge sensation with his performance in Ranjhaanaa. The movie became a smashing blockbuster with critics raving about Dhanush and director Aanand L. Rai's directorial brilliance. Recently, the makers re-released the movie in Tamil as Ambikapathy and altered climax using AI.

In this AI version, Dhanush doesn't die in the climax and he is brought alive. This alteration has hurt Aanand L Rai and Dhanush. Both of them have expressed their disappointment on social media. They stated that they cannot take this lightly, and now, they have decided to take legal action.

Producer EROS International have unilaterally decided to use AI to alter the climax and did not take permission from Aanand L Rai or Dhanush. Hence, they have decided to go against EROS International to Court. Dhanush did not allow Nayanthara to use Naanum Rowdy Dhan clips and he would be very strict against EROS, too.

Currently, Dhanush is completing post-production works of Idly Kadai, releasing on 2nd October. He also completed his work for Aanand L Rai's Tere Ishk Mein, a sequel to Ranjhaana in principal. As they are finishing the movie, original has been re-released in Tamil, going by the recent trend. Even EROS is threatening legal action against Dhanush and the director for IP breach.
